The building was commissioned by William Cunliffe Brooks, the owner of Glentanar Estate at the time who was a notable English Barrister and Conservative MP. His initials “WCB” can be found in the stonework on the building. The properties were built in similar style to those of the Glentanar Estate with the distinctive red roof tiles and wooden finishings within the property which most certainly came from the estate’s abundant timber supplies.

Location Aboyne is situated in Deeside and is approximately 30 miles from Aberdeen making it within easy commuting distance to Westhill, Kingswells and beyond.
